Nathan Russell-Raby is an accomplished filmmaker with over a decade of experience in production, development, and storytelling.
Nathan began his career at Pinewood Studios, working as a Locations Assistant on major film and TV productions. During this time, he gained national creative exposure when his short-form comedy work was featured by BBC Three’s Funny in 15.
He later joined Pinewood’s content investment arm as a screenwriter, where he was personally mentored by the studio’s executive team and developed hands-on expertise in financing strategy, production, distribution and marketing.
Nathan then developed factual entertainment for Channel 5 and UKTV before making his feature-length directorial debut with 3 Wheeling — a cinematic documentary filmed at the Isle of Man TT. The film was released theatrically, as well as on Prime and Apple TV, earning over 150 commercial screenings and building a social media following of 1.5 million fans.
He now runs DIY Studios, collaborating with BAFTA-winning producers and actors, Academy Award nominated writers, and top industry talent - while keeping creative control at the core of every project.
Alongside his film work, DIY has produced branded campaigns for major clients like Google, and campaigns for public film financiers showcased internationally at events such as MIPCOM.
